Past Activities

The major activities of the organization in the year 2005 – 2006 were:

  • Social Development
  • – Advocacy
  • Effective participations in DRCEP (Democratic Rights Citizens Education Program) of SAP–PAK Lahore.
  • Worked as TCC (Tehsil Co-ordination Committee) for DRCEP of SAP–PAK Lahore.
  • One-Day Seminar against WTO, globalization and Anti Local Seeds Rights Programmes.

2  – Agriculture

  • Completion of the FTP (Farmers Training Program) with the financial and technical assistance of SAP –PAK Lahore.
  • Agriculture Training workshops to matches en direct 178 farmers with the help of the District Agriculture Department Khanewal, with reference to better yield of the crops.
  • Agricultural training workshops for 48 farmers with reference to farm management skills.
  • One Day Technical Training Workshop for 23 farmers with reference to soil conservation techniques.
  • One Day Technical Training Workshop for 18 farmers for the purpose of applying water conservation methods.
  • A One Day Plant Protection and pest control Training workshop about the cotton crop for 51 farmers.

3 – Capacity Building

Following activities related to capacity building, in different social sectors were organized by the organization during the year.

  • 49 men and 36 women of 7CBO’s were provided technical training to maintain the record.
  • One day Technical training workshop for the training of 21 farmers of 7 farmer committees.
  • One day financial management training for the 7 newly formed CO’s.
  • One-day workshop on new concepts of social development for 23 rural social activists of 3 farmer committees.
  • One day training “Tools of Need Assessment.” to 15 men of 5 CO’s.
  • – Children
  • One day Training for the feeding women. 10 mothers joined the training.
  • Two Days Medical Camp with reference to Children health care Sexual abuse of
  • Children.
  • –  Culture

One day local culture development festival held near the organizational office. 3 local singers were invited to perform before the public. 231 local men enjoyed the festival

  • –  Disadvantaged Groups
  • 22 poor women were helped to get financial assistance from the district Bait –ul – Mal Fund Khanewal.
  • 30 poor families were provided food assistance through a charity-based program of public donation.
  • 43 Widows were helped through a small amount of one thousand rupees per women by collecting money from the kind and generous people.
  • –  Drug Demand Reduction

           One day walk was arranged to aware the people about the dangers of the drug addiction.

  • – Education
  •   The organization is running its own elementary level school.
  • 26 teachers of the 9 private schools were provided training about the basic teaching skills.
  • A mobilization campaign was started with 12 govt primary schools to assist them in raising the admission of the school going children in their schools.
  • One-day workshop was conducted with the 21 teachers of 8 private schools to develop a model question paper.
  • A survey was conducted to assist the Ujala Literacy Program of Govt. of Punjab to set up 50 women Adult Literacy Centres in 50 villages of 3 Union Councils. Presently the organization is running and 35 ALC
  • NFBE Non formal Basic Education center in Tehsil Kabirwala.
  •  – Environment

One week was celebrated in 6 villages to aware the people against the harms of environmental pollution. Cleaning the villages and plantation were the main activities of that week.

  1. – Food Production
  2. One day technical training workshop was conducted for increasing wheat crop yield.
  3. One day Technical training was provided to 20 cattle farmers with reference to cure the cattle from major diseases.
  4. One-day workshop was conducted for the training of 43 rural women to grow vegetables at small scale in their homes.
  1. – Health  –
  • A Mother & Child Health Care Training was provided to 27 rural midwives.
  • 2 , 7 days Mother and Child Health Care Medical camps at organizational office.
  • 2 , 15 days Eye Camps ( 15 – 30 Oct 2001 + 15 – 30 March 2002) at Jodh Pur & Jassu Kawein .
  1. –  Human Rights
  2. An awareness workshop was conducted with reference to stop voilence against women.
  3. 25 men & 6 women joined in a seminar at the organizational office held at the topic, Civil Rights in Pakistan. 
  1. – Income Generation

26 women were sent to a training workshop at Basti Maluk (Multam)  arranged by SAP – PAK, to learn about the preservation of food.   2. A survey was completed about the worst living conditions of the Christian minorities, living within Kabirwala town. 28 Christian families were found ,living in worst conditions.
  3.  A survey was completed about the present conditions of the farmers and their problems with reference to agricultural problems of the 40 selected villages.
  1.  – Women
  • Effective direct participation of 9 women in CCWR (Citizens Campaign for Women Rights) of Aurat Foundation Lahore.
  • Assistance to 20 women in contesting for the local district level election.
  • Women Empowerment through skill training of 26 lady teachers of 9 private schools.
  • 6 women were helped to open INC’s (Information Network Centers) with the help of AF (Aurat Foundation Lahore).
  1.  –  Youth Activities

             Local game festival was celebrated on the national Independence Day celebrations. 23 young men from 6

             Villages were invited there, to perform their skills.

18   – Participation in Seminars

  • Participation of 4 members in a 3 days seminar (14 – 16 Sep 2001) “ Aslah Cultur Ka Khatma” at

      SAP – PAK Lahore.

  • Participation of 2 female & 4 male members in a One-Day Seminar (22 Oct 2001) “ Need of Agriculture Cooperative Markeeting” held at Jinnah Hall Sargodha by National Cooperative Union of Pakistan.
  • Participation of 2 male & 2 female members in Two Days Seminar with reference to Politics and its new Trends at Pestral Institute Multan.
  • Participation of 2 male & 2 female members in One Day Seminar with reference to  “Intaha Pasand Siasat Aur Uss Kay Muzmirat” held on 25th Jan 2002 at Hotel   Sind Bad Multan by Pattan Taraqiati Tanzeem Multan.
  • Participation of 2 male & 32 female members in One Day Seminar with reference to International Women Day on 8th March 2002 celebrated by Pattan Development Organization Multan held at Multan Arts Council Hall Mulan.

18 – Charity

  1. – Emergency Relief
  • An emergency camp was set during the flood days (10th – 25 Aug2001.), near the river bank ,near Sardarpur to provide all the possible help to the flood affected people.
  • A flood relief camp in Kabirwala town (10th – 25th Aug 2001) remained busy in collecting the food bags and other essentials of life, to assist the victims of flood.
  • 352 packets of tea, 34 bags of flour, 39 bags of sugar , 62 shirts and life saving medicines were provided to the flood affected families.
  • – Disaster
  • Natural disasters can be tackled, but man created disasters are so harsh that they can be expected      without any
  • physical change of whether, season or anything else. 12 persons of the same family were killed at the night
  • time during the month of August 2001, when they were sleeping in their own house in a village of Mari Sahu,
  • a nearby village of Kabirwala  town. Organizational staff of rushed to the incidence site in that hour
  • of need. No body of the family was alive. Police was not willing to even touch the dead bodies, reserving the
  • government resources. People of the village did not want to poke their nose in the matter. It seemed that the
